BREAKING: The Miami Marlins have just activated third baseman Connor Norby from the injured list, marking his return to the field after recovering from a broken hamate bone in his left wrist. This exciting news comes after Norby missed over a month of action, having last played on July 11, 2023, against the Baltimore Orioles.

Norby’s injury initially presented as wrist inflammation but escalated, prompting surgery by renowned hand specialist Dr. Don Sheridan on July 16, 2023. Fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Norby is back in the lineup, batting sixth against the New York Mets today, following a productive rehab stint that included five games with Triple-A Jacksonville.

Marlins manager Clayton McCullough expressed his enthusiasm for Norby’s return, stating,

“Very excited to get Connor back. He worked extremely hard along with our training staff to get back from this as quickly as he could.”

Prior to his injury, Norby had a challenging season, batting .241 with six home runs and 26 RBIs over 72 games. He had also missed the first three weeks of the season due to a strained oblique. The Marlins acquired Norby at the 2024 trade deadline from the Orioles, where he recorded a .236 batting average with nine homers and 20 RBIs in 45 games last season.

To make room for Norby on the roster, infielder Maximo Acosta was optioned to Jacksonville after struggling with a .167 batting average in nine games.

As the Marlins push for a strong finish to the season, Norby’s return could be pivotal. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how he performs following his recovery. With the pressure mounting, every game counts in this critical stretch of the season.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Marlins aim for postseason success!
