UPDATE: Fast-growing chicken chain Raising Cane’s is set to open seven new restaurants across the United States in September 2024, including key locations in New York City. This expansion is a major step towards the company’s ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 locations by year-end.

The upcoming openings highlight Raising Cane’s commitment to connecting with college communities. Many of the new restaurants will be strategically located near major universities, reinforcing the brand’s longstanding relationship with students.

In a bold move, two locations will debut in San Diego and Santa Fe Springs, California. The San Diego restaurant is just a few miles from the University of San Diego, while the Santa Fe Springs site is conveniently located near Cerritos College.

Additionally, the New York City locations will be just blocks from Columbia University, across from Barnard College, and within walking distance of the Manhattan School of Music. This strategic placement underscores Raising Cane’s focus on areas with high student populations.

Other new sites will open in Indianapolis, Spokane, Washington, Bel Air, Maryland, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Spokane site is located just over a mile from Gonzaga University, while the Bel Air location boasts proximity to 36 colleges within a 30-mile radius. In Ann Arbor, the restaurant will be steps from the University of Michigan’s downtown campus, and in Indianapolis, it is near several institutions, including Indiana University and Purdue University.

Raising Cane’s has already made waves this year, opening 118 restaurants in 2024 alone, with over a dozen of those in January. The company is showing no signs of slowing down. According to their website, Raising Cane’s operates over 800 chicken finger locations across the U.S., and they have around 300 restaurants in various stages of development.

In an official statement, the company emphasized its ongoing commitment to growth, stating it is “continually evaluating sites all over the world” to exceed 1,600-plus restaurants and secure its place as a Top 10 U.S. restaurant brand.

This expansion is more than just numbers; it represents Raising Cane’s dedication to serving communities and fostering student engagement through quality food. As the company gears up for these openings, many are eager to see how the brand will continue to evolve and connect with new customers.

Stay tuned for more updates as Raising Cane’s prepares to make its mark in these vibrant college towns!
