Rokid Launches Advanced Smart Glasses, Outshining Meta’s Offerings

Rokid has introduced a new competitor in the smart glasses market, unveiling its Rokid Glasses, which feature advanced technology aimed at enhancing user experience. Unlike Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, Rokid’s offering includes a display in each lens, enabling users to access a range of applications including navigation and a teleprompter function for presentations.
The Rokid Glasses come equipped with monochrome displays that boast a brightness of up to 1,500 nits. This feature allows for clear visibility in various lighting conditions, making them suitable for outdoor use. The displays utilize green-colored micro LED technology, which enhances the clarity and effectiveness of the information presented.
In terms of weight, the Rokid Glasses are impressively light, weighing just 49 grams. This is comparable to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, which range between 48 and 51 grams, although Meta’s offerings lack any display. The lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy frame contributes to the glasses’ overall comfort and usability.

Rokid plans to launch its smart glasses with an initial price set at $499 during a Kickstarter campaign, with a suggested retail price of $599 once fully launched.
