Ascensus has appointed Jeri Hawthorne as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, enhancing the company’s executive team during a pivotal period of transformation. Based in Dresher, Pennsylvania, Hawthorne will report to David Musto, the Chair and CEO of Ascensus. Her extensive experience in human resources across various industries is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the company’s strategic objectives.

David Musto expressed enthusiasm about Hawthorne’s arrival, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Jeri Hawthorne to Ascensus at a time of significant transformation in our industry and across our company. Her experience and perspective from leading organizations with a like commitment to client and employee experience excellence will be enormously valuable as we evolve the scale, solutions, and culture of our own business.”

Hawthorne joins Ascensus from Aflac, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer. She has held prominent HR leadership roles in several organizations, including Campbell and Company, a quantitative hedge fund, and Exelon, the largest energy parent company in the United States. At Exelon, she spearheaded talent and leadership development initiatives while managing teams that supported Constellation, the company’s competitive energy division.

Earlier in her career, Hawthorne gained valuable experience at T. Rowe Price and the U.S. Pharmacopeia. Her international background includes working in global human resources at Novo Nordisk A/S in Denmark, further broadening her expertise in the field.

Hawthorne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheeling Jesuit University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom. Her appointment comes as she succeeds Amy Walker, who will support the transition until mid-September 2023.

As Ascensus seeks to enhance its organizational culture and talent strategies, Hawthorne’s leadership is anticipated to be instrumental in the company’s ongoing expansion within the financial services and benefits administration sectors. The firm is focused on scaling its offerings to better serve clients and respond to market changes.

With Jeri Hawthorne at the helm of human resources, Ascensus is poised to navigate this transformative phase with a renewed focus on employee and client engagement, strengthening its position in the industry.
