Dulce Luna Botana Celebrates One Year of Sweet Success in Marshall

UPDATE: Local favorite, Dulce Luna Botana, is celebrating its one-year anniversary at its new location in Marshall this September, delighting customers with unique Mexican snacks and desserts. Owner Maria Luna has transformed her passion for baking into a thriving business, following a successful stint as a vendor at Taco Reyes.
Dulce Luna Botana, located at 409 E. Pinecrest Drive, has quickly become a go-to spot for those seeking to satisfy their sweet tooth. The shop, which started as a food trailer in 2023, now offers a variety of treats including street corn, tostilocos, and her award-winning tres leches cakes. Luna’s innovative approach, such as her renowned pumpkin spice horchata, has captivated the local community.
“Seeing the smiles on kids’ faces is what brings me joy,” Luna shared. Her dedication to creativity and quality has earned her the title of best dessert in the News Messenger’s Hometown Best contest for two consecutive years.
Luna’s journey began at Taco Reyes, where she sold botanas and experimented with recipes while working alongside her brother. “I always wanted to have my own little location,” she emphasized, and with the support of her family, she took a leap of faith to lease her own storefront.
The 24-year-old entrepreneur credits her family’s sacrifices for her success. “My parents came here with nothing, and seeing them struggle drives me to succeed,” she reflected. Her vision extends beyond just one location; she aspires to expand Dulce Luna Botana to reach more sweet lovers in the future.
The shop’s aguas frescas menu refreshes every few days, enticing customers with new flavors. “We want to keep things interesting,” Luna noted. To keep up with the latest offerings, customers can follow Dulce Luna Botana on social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
Dulce Luna Botana is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. As Luna continues to grow her business, she encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams. “El sol brilla para todos,” she said. “The sun shines for everyone.”
As the anniversary approaches, the community is invited to join in the celebration of this local gem that has sweetened the lives of many in Marshall.
