BREAKING: Dr. James Dobson, a prominent Christian leader and influential advisor to former President Donald Trump, has passed away at the age of 89. His death was announced by the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute early Thursday, but the cause and time of death remain undisclosed.

Dobson was a pivotal figure in American evangelical circles, founding Focus on the Family in 1977 and transforming it into one of the largest evangelical ministries globally. His best-selling book, “Dare to Discipline,” and his daily radio program reached millions, promoting fundamentalist Christian values and counseling families across over 4,000 radio stations in more than 160 countries.

Known for his staunch advocacy of traditional family values, Dobson shaped public policy by advising on various legislative matters and serving on the Evangelical Executive Advisory Board under President Trump. His influence extended to several U.S. presidents, including Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. His family stated, “Dr. Dobson’s impact endures through the many lives he touched, the families he strengthened, and the unshakable faith he proclaimed.”

In 2010, Dobson left Focus on the Family to establish his own organization, continuing his influential radio program under the name Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson. He authored over 70 books advocating for traditional gender roles and family structures, becoming a central voice in the conservative Christian movement.

Dobson was born in 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Dobson, their children, Danae and Ryan, daughter-in-law Laura, and two grandchildren.

This news is not just a reflection of the loss of an influential figure but also a pivotal moment for many who found strength and guidance in his teachings. As the world reflects on Dr. Dobson’s legacy, his contributions to family dynamics and evangelical thought will continue to resonate in American society.
