This innovative motor features a modular, four-part architecture that improves efficiency and performance. According to Business Wire, HaloDrive offers a torque density of 100 Nm/kg, comparable to that of a V8 engine, while being 35% cheaper than current radial flux motors.
The HaloDrive motor is notable for its high energy efficiency, reaching 97%. It can be integrated into traditional drivetrains or used as a generator, providing a sustainable alternative to diesel-powered refrigeration units in transport applications. Orbis Electric claims that switching to HaloDrive technology could result in a 100% reduction in diesel refrigeration fuel consumption and emissions, alongside significant cost savings.
